Kira is a redbone coonhound mix who was rescued with the rest of her 7 brothers and sisters and her mother. She is named after Libbie and Matt’s favorite Olympian, Kirani James, the runner from Grenada who won his country’s first gold medal. He was the class act who traded bibs with Oscar Pistorius after winning one of the men’s 400m heats. Welcome to the family, little Kira.
